“I believe Prince Andrew”: Fergie’s ex speaks in bombshell interview

<p dir="ltr">Sarah Ferguson’s former partner has made bombshell allegations about Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew and the late Queen, including claims that the convicted sex offender planned to blackmail the monarch.</p> <p dir="ltr">John Bryan, who was in a relationship with Ferguson for four years in the 1990s, made the claims in his first tell-all interview, per <em>The Sun</em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">The US businessman said that Epstein earned some of his wealth by blackmailing others in powerful positions into giving him money in exchange for his silence over their illicit behaviours.</p> <p dir="ltr">“People always ask how Epstein made his money. He was supposed to be this tax wizard. But it was all a con,” Bryan told the <em>Mail on Sunday</em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He blackmailed rich men and then made them pay to avoid scandal. He made hundreds of millions of dollars this way.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Bryan also claimed he was secretly drafted for crisis talks with Prince Andrew after the royal’s disastrous 2019 Newsnight interview, including that he was smuggled into the Royal Lodge to advise the royal in the wake of the Epstein scandal and amid claims he had sex with then-teenager Virginia Giuffre.</p> <p dir="ltr">He said the conversation involved probing Andrew about his relationship with Epstein and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Andrew’s television interview had been a catastrophe so they needed an honest strategic plan that everyone could buy into,” Bryan recalled.</p> <p dir="ltr">“[Fergie] invited me to come over. She was desperate. She told me that Andrew was in terrible shape.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He was distraught. They were distraught.”</p> <p dir="ltr">He claimed that he helped the family come up with a “long term strategy” called “House of Kroy”, a backwards spelling of York.</p> <p dir="ltr">During the interview, Bryan said Epstein’s “ultimate” aim was to blackmail the Queen using the allegations of child sexual abuse and other sexual activities made against Andrew.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Epstein tried to lure Andrew into his web, but I believe his ultimate mark was the Queen,” Bryan said, adding that Epstein’s plan to target the Queen supported his belief that the allegations against Andrew were unfounded.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I believe Andrew is innocent. If he genuinely was involved in ‘orgies’ as has been alleged, then Epstein would have used that to try and bribe the Queen into paying out millions to protect her family,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Andrew has never had any money. The Queen was the one with money.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I truly believe Epstein was going after her but Andrew never gave him the ammunition to do so.”</p> <p dir="ltr">The financial advisor recalled another meeting with the royals, including Andrew, Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.</p> <p dir="ltr">Bryan claimed Princess Beatrice told Andrew, “you’ve hurt our family”, and that Andrew was “downcast” and yelling: “I don’t care anymore, I don’t care. I am being treated unfairly.”</p> <p dir="ltr">He added that the Duke was in a state he had never seen him in before after the interview.</p> <p dir="ltr">“In the four years I dated Sarah I never once heard him raise his voice or lose his temper,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It showed what strain he was under, how much he cared about the damage this was doing to the Royal Family.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Bryan added that he had only seen Andrew with women aged in their mid-20s while he was dating Fergie, and that he believed there was “no hint” of “anything untoward going on”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I truly believe if there was anything untoward going on I would have known about it, Sarah would have known about it,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“But there was never a hint of that. “You are not alone”: Prince Harry pens emotional letter to bereaved children

<p dir="ltr">Prince Harry has penned a letter to children whose parents have died as a result of being in the military, telling him they share a bond in losing a parent and experiencing grief.</p> <p dir="ltr">The former royal wrote of how he learnt to cope with grief and encouraged the children to “lean into your friends” in his letter, which was shared by the charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers on Remembrance Sunday.</p> <p dir="ltr">“As many of us observe and reflect on Remembrance Sunday, I wanted to write to you and let you know you are all in my thoughts and heart today,” he began.</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-319fa701-7fff-1059-e37f-7ace750a752b"></span></p> <p dir="ltr">“We share a bond even without ever meeting one another, because we share in having lost a parent. Kate Middleton breaks ‘unwritten’ royal rule

<p dir="ltr">Kate Middleton has been spotted breaking an unwritten rule for royals while posing with a royal fan.</p> <p dir="ltr">After the man approached and put his arm around her, the Princess of Wales reciprocated, breaking the unwritten rule of limiting contact to a handshake.</p> <p dir="ltr">Before smiling for the camera, Kate was seen speaking with him during the official visit she made with husband Prince William to Scarborough.</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-b490d20f-7fff-f7de-e2b6-f3a9ad63b0d9"></span></p> <p dir="ltr">The sweet photo was taken during the couple’s visit to ‘The Street’, a youth and community facility run by the charity Coast &amp; Vale Community Action, where they announced that £345,000 of funds from their Royal Foundation would be used to help young people’s mental health in the area.</p> <p dir="ltr"><img src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/2022/11/kate-hug-man.jpg" alt="" width="1280" height="720" /></p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Kate Middleton was photographed with her arm around a royal fan during a sweet encounter in Scarborough. Image: Getty Images</em></p> <p dir="ltr">But Kate and William’s most recent visit to Scarborough isn’t the first time members of the public have been met with more than a handshake by the younger royals.</p> <p dir="ltr">Earlier this year, William hugged a man who became emotional during a trip to Scotland, and the Prince also hugged the Lionesses after their historic win of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 competition.</p> <p dir="ltr">In the wake of the Queen’s death in September, Meghan Markle was spotted being hugged and kissed by royal fans, while Sophie, Countess of Wessex, was photographed hugging a young boy during a vigil.</p> <p dir="ltr">While there aren’t any official rules for how royals behave while greeting members of the public, a handshake has historically been the extent of contact made.</p> <p dir="ltr">Grant Harold, a former royal butler, told <em><a href="https://www.ok.co.uk/lifestyle/prince-william-broke-protocol-intentional-27659169" target="_blank" rel="noopener">OK!</a></em> that at most “you could look but you couldn’t touch”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“If you met a royal, you could look at them and if they offered you a handshake you were to accept it,” he told the outlet.</p> <p dir="ltr">“That was a lot to do with the mystique surrounding the family but also for security reasons, too."</p> <p dir="ltr"><span id="docs-internal-guid-cb821642-7fff-b5b6-5f1c-9a9352152e43"></span></p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image: Getty Images</em></p>

“A pain in the a***”: Security expert reveals why woman posing as Prince Andrew’s fiancée got past security

<p dir="ltr">A woman claiming to be Prince Andrew’s fiancée was able to get past security because staff were too “terrified” to check with the royal according to a specialist detective.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Spanish woman claimed to be Irene Windsor and was due to have dinner with the Duke of York when she arrived at the security gate of the Royal Lodge in Winsdor last April, and was allowed in without her identification checked.</p> <p dir="ltr">Her cab fare was even paid for by security officers, with her cover eventually blown when she entered the building and a suspicious staff member alerted police - but not before she walked around the grounds for up to 40 minutes.</p> <p dir="ltr">Philip Grindell, the founder of VIP security firm Defuse and a former specialist detective with the Met Police, has now claimed that staff were reluctant to check the woman’s story with Prince Andrew because of his reputation.</p> <p dir="ltr">Grindell, who was responsible for planning and running security measures for high-profile events that included those with royals and the military, made the claims while speaking at the International Security Expo in London, describing the royal as an “unpleasant character”.</p> <p dir="ltr">"Prince Andrew is a pain in the a*** and if you have ever worked with him, is an unpleasant character and the security were terrified of asking him 'is anyone turning up?'” Grindell said.</p> <p dir="ltr">"And because they did not want to upset him, no one asked and they assumed he must have an appointment and let her in.</p> <p dir="ltr">"The security were terrified of asking him."</p> <p dir="ltr">Paul Page, a former Met Police royal protection officer, separately shared a similar account about working with the controversial royal.</p> <p dir="ltr">"When I heard this it became blatantly obvious that the security involved were in the same position with Prince Andrew as I was 20 years ago, in that they were too frightened to question unidentified female visitors as it would always end in him abusing us for stopping them,” he said at the expo.</p> <p dir="ltr">"This is a classic example of what we feared would happen one day."</p> <p dir="ltr">At the time, the woman was found with maps of the Royal Lodge and other royal residences, as well as a self-defence key ring with two sharp prongs.</p> <p dir="ltr">She was arrested on suspicion of burglary before being sectioned under the Mental Health Act and eventually released without charge.</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-bfff73ff-7fff-7826-a75c-88d6a93cf36c"></span></p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image: Getty Images</em></p>

Danish palace cops backlash after announcing slimmed-down monarchy

<p dir="ltr">Tension is said to be running high in the Danish royal family after Prince Joachim claimed his children were given just five days’ notice that they would lose their royal titles following a decision made by their grandmother Queen Margrethe.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I was given five days' notice to tell them. In May, I was presented with a plan which, by and large, was that when the children each turned 25, it would happen,” Prince Joachim said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Now I had only five days to tell them. Athena turns 11 in January.”</p> <p dir="ltr">In a bombshell announcement, the Danish Royal Household confirmed that Prince Joachim’s children would no longer be using the title of Prince or Princess of Denmark.</p> <p dir="ltr">Instead, they would be restricted to using the titles of Count, Countess or Comtesse of Monpezat from the start of next year.</p> <p dir="ltr">“In April 2008, Her Majesty the Queen conferred the titles of Count, Countess and Comtesse of Monpezat on her sons, their spouses and their descendants,” the statement, released yesterday, read.</p> <p dir="ltr">“In May 2016, it was also announced that His Royal Highness Prince Christian, as the only one of the Queen's grandchildren, is expected to receive an annuity from the state as an adult.</p> <p dir="ltr">“As a natural extension of this, Her Majesty has decided that with effect from 1 January 2023, the descendants of His Royal Highness Prince Joachim can only use their titles as Count and Countess of Monpezat, as their previous titles as Prince and Princess of Denmark will lapse. </p> <p dir="ltr">“Prince Joachim's descendants will henceforth have to be addressed as Excellencies.”</p> <p dir="ltr">It was confirmed that Prince Joachim’s children would still maintain their places in the order of succession, but would be able to live their lives “without being limited by the special considerations and duties that a formal affiliation with the Royal House of Denmark as an institution involves”.</p> <p dir="ltr">The statement also hinted that the decision was designed to streamline the monarchy, which follows similar sentiments shared by King Charles II and other European royal households.</p> <p dir="ltr">However, Prince Joachim, the youngest of Margrethe’s two sons, claimed his children were “harmed” by the news and that he was given little notice.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We are all very sad. It's never fun to see your children being harmed. They are been put in a situation they do not understand,” he told Danish news outlet <em><a href="https://ekstrabladet.dk/underholdning/kongelige/danskekongelige/nu-reagerer-prins-joachim-mine-boern-er-gjort-fortraed/9447865" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ekstra Bladet</a></em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">The 53-year-old royal, who is sixth in line to the throne, shares his two eldest sons Nikolai, 23, and Felix, 20, with his first wife Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksberg, and 13-year-old Henrik and 10-year-old Athena with his current wife, Princess Marie.</p> <p dir="ltr">Alexandra said the news was like a “bolt out of the blue” and that her two sons felt “ostracised” by their family.</p> <p dir="ltr">“They cannot understand why their identity is being taken away from them,” she told Danish magazine <em>Se og Hør</em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">A spokesperson for the Countess told another news outlet that Prince Joachim only learnt of his children’s fate from an aide, with claims that Queen Margrethe didn’t speak to her son or grandchildren about the change.</p> <p dir="ltr">Queen Margrethe, who is celebrating her Golden Jubilee this year, defended the decision at an event in Copenhagen.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It is a consideration I have had for quite a long time and I think it will be good for them in their future. That is the reason,” she said.</p> <p dir="ltr">In another statement, the Royal Household supported the Queen’s claims that it had been a long time coming while conceding that there are “many emotions at stake”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“As the Queen stated yesterday, the decision has been a long time coming,” it read.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We understand that there are many emotions at stake at the moment, but we hope that the Queen's wish to future-proof the Royal Household will be respected.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Since the announcement, there have been reports of an “ice-cold air” between the Queen and her grandchildren.</p> <p dir="ltr">“There is ice-cold air between Queen Margrethe and her grandchildren after she decided that they will lose their titles as prince and princess from the New Year,” <em>Ekstra Bladet </em>reported.</p> <p dir="ltr">“The news, which has crushed both the four children and their parents, was not delivered by the queen herself.</p> <p dir="ltr">“They have not been called to Amalienborg for a cold coke and an explanation as to why they must henceforth be addressed as counts and countesses. “You feel free”: Meghan Markle opens up on life in her new home

<p dir="ltr">After leaving royal life for the celebrity haven of Montecito, California, two years ago, Meghan Markle has revealed that her new home has brought with it freedom, tranquillity and peace of mind.</p> <p dir="ltr">Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, bought <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/property/real-estate/take-a-peek-inside-harry-and-meghan-s-20-million-mansion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom home</a> for a hefty $US 14.65 million ($SG 20.2 million) in 2020, becoming neighbours with the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.</p> <p dir="ltr">In an interview for <em><a href="https://www.thecut.com/article/meghan-markle-profile-interview.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Cut</a></em>, the 41-year-old Suits star detailed how her California home is “healing” and allows her to “feel free”, feelings that pushed her and Harry to snap it up when they could.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We did everything we could to get this house,” she told writer Allison P. Davis. “Because you walk in and go … Joy. And exhale. And calm. It’s healing. You feel free.”</p> <p dir="ltr">The couple bought the home - which comes complete with rose gardens, a tennis court, a tea house, and a two-bedroom guesthouse - shortly after leaving the royal family.</p> <p dir="ltr">The 1700 square-metre home is reportedly the first both Harry and Meghan have owned, with the pair now embarking on renovations including the fixing of pipes.</p> <p dir="ltr">With Harry and Meghan working on various projects through their company Archewell, they share a home office which includes two plush club chairs side-by-side in front of a desk.</p> <p dir="ltr">In the sitting room, cozy chairs and rosewater candles are included along with a grand piano, gifted to the couple by actor and director Tyler Perry as a housewarming present after they spent the pandemic living in his multimillion-dollar mansion in Beverly Hills.</p> <p dir="ltr">But, the couple initially resisted viewing the home when they were looking to establish themselves in the area, with Meghan revealing that it wasn’t within their means initially.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We didn’t have jobs, so we just were not going to come and see this house. Why Harry didn't end up wearing military outfit to Queen’s funeral

<p dir="ltr">Prince Harry’s uniform has been the subject of heated discussion following the death of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.</p> <p dir="ltr">The former working royal first made headlines after he was spotted in a suit during royal events where Prince Andrew was wearing his military uniform.</p> <p dir="ltr">Despite his father, King Charles III, giving Prince Harry permission to wear his dress uniform at Queen Elizabeth II’s vigil over the weekend, the 38-year-old arrived at Westminster Hall in his morning suit during <a href="https://www.oversixty.asia/lifestyle/family-pets/final-farewell-for-longest-reigning-queen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Monday morning’s service</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">The prince added his medals to his black suit jacket which he wore while walking in the procession to and from Westminster Abbey during the funeral.</p> <p dir="ltr">But he wasn’t the only one not in uniform, after Prince Andrew was also prohibited from wearing official military dress during the service.</p> <p dir="ltr">The changes to uniform permissions came after the palace announced that only working members of the royal family who hold a rank could wear military uniforms at the funeral, with both Prince Harry and Prince Andrew being excluded from that category after leaving royal life.</p> <p dir="ltr">A source told<em> Page Six </em>last week that Prince Harry was just “prepared to wear whatever his grandmother made plans for”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He’s focused on honouring her and that’s it,” they said.</p> <p dir="ltr">In a statement, the prince said what he wore wasn’t reflective of his military service.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex will wear a morning suit throughout events honouring his grandmother. His decade of military service is not determined by the uniform he wears and we respectfully ask that focus remain on the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”</p> <p dir="ltr">During the funeral, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were seated in the second row behind King Charles III and Camilla, the Queen Consort.</p> <p dir="ltr">Meghan was spotted wearing a touching tribute to her grandmother-in-law, donning pearl earrings the Queen gave her in 2018.</p> <p dir="ltr">After the service, the couple walked behind the Queen’s coffin, with Prince Harry joining male family members for a procession through London streets ahead of her burial at Windsor Castle.</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image: Getty Images</em></p>

Kate Middleton makes rare appearance with Charles and Camilla

<p dir="ltr">The Duchess of Cambridge has stepped out in <a href="https://honey.nine.com.au/royals/kate-middleton-prince-charles-camilla-rare-joint-royal-engagement/1feb8a05-2842-44b0-ac85-98ef13aaab43" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a rare public appearance</a> with her father and mother-in-law, with the trio last spotted in public together nearly a decade ago.</p><p dir="ltr">Prince Charles, Camilla, and Kate Middleton appeared for the first time together in March 2012 at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, which was also the first joint engagement for Charles and Camilla in nine years.</p><p dir="ltr">On Thursday, the trio appeared at the Trinity Buoy Wharf, London’s former docklands, to support students taking part in Charles’ Foundation School of Traditional Arts.</p><p dir="ltr"><img src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/2022/02/kate-art.jpg" alt="" width="1280" height="720" /></p><p dir="ltr"><em>Kate speaks with a student during a life-drawing class. Kate Middleton shows she has nerves of steel

Prince Philip’s will to be kept sealed for 90 years

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The UK High Court has ruled that Prince Philip’s will is to remain secret so as to protect the “dignity” of Queen Elizabeth, owing to her constitutional role. Philip died in April at the age of 99 following almost 74 years as the Queen’s consort.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sir Andrew McFarlane, president of the Family Division of the High Court, heard arguments from lawyers representing Philip’s estate and the attorney general, who represents the public interest, in a private hearing in July, and published the court’s ruling on Thursday. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In the ruling, McFarlane ordered that Philip’s will remain sealed for 90 years, and even after that date, may only be opened in private. The judge said: “I have held that, because of the constitutional position of the sovereign, it is appropriate to have a special practice in relation to royal wills. This means their wills are not publicly available the way most wills are.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">McFarlane also ruled that any future judgements on applications to seal wills belonging to members of the royal family would remain closed, and therefore will not be made public.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, died on April 9th of this year, following a 73-year marriage to Queen Elizabeth, making him the longest-serving royal consort in world history. At the time, Buckingham Palace released a statement reading, "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband. TIME names Prince Harry and Meghan two of the 100 most influential people of 2021

<p dir="ltr">Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have been named two of the world’s 100 most influential people by<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://time.com/collection/100-most-influential-people-2021/6096108/prince-harry-meghan/" target="_blank">TIME Magazine</a><span> </span>as part of its annual TIME100 list. The couple were profiled by José Andrés, a chef and the founder of World Central Kitchen, for the issue. Andrés has worked closely with the couple’s charity,<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://archewell.com/" target="_blank">Archewell</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">Andrés describes Harry and Meghan as “giving voice to the voiceless” through their work with the Foundation. He also describes the couple as being “blessed by birth and talent” while also being “burned by fame”. He adds, “In a world where everyone has an opinion about people they don’t know, the duke and duchess have compassion for the people they don’t know. They don’t just opine. Prince William and Prince Harry’s “devastating breakdown” revealed in new book

<p>The rift between Prince William and Prince Harry is the most “profound” among the recent generation of the royal family, royal author Robert Lacey said.</p> <p>The biographer, who serves as a historical consultant for the Netflix series <em>The Crown</em>, is set to release the book <em>Battle of Brothers: William and Harry – the Friendships and Feuds </em>in October.</p> <p>“Raised to be the closest of brothers, the last 18 months has seen a devastating breakdown of their once unbreakable bond,” the book’s synopsis reads.</p> <p>In the book, Lacey explains “what happened when two sons were raised for vastly different futures and showing how the seeds of damage were sown as their parents’ marriage unravelled”.</p> <p>Lacey said he had been “astonished” by the information he had uncovered for the book.</p> <p>“I have been astonished and sometimes moved to tears by the fresh details and insights I have discovered in researching this story of family conflict,” he said in a press release.</p> <p>“These two brothers — once inseparable and now separated by much more than mere distance — have been acting out the contradictions that go back into their childhoods and even before that: into their parents’ ill-fated marriage.</p> <p>“We have seen conflicts between heir and spare in every recent generation of the royal family — but nothing so profound as this.”</p> <p>In the 2019 documentary <em>Harry &amp; Meghan: An African Journey</em>, the Duke of Sussex shared a glimpse into his relationship with his older brother.</p> <p>“Part of this role and part of this job, this family, being under the pressure that it’s under, inevitably stuff happens,” he said. “But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I’ll always be there for him and I know he’ll always be there for me.”</p> <p>Another book on royals, <em>Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family</em>, will be released in August. The biography, authored by journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durnad, promises to go “beyond the headlines to reveal unknown details of Harry and Meghan’s life together, dispelling the many rumours and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond”.</p>

Royal slap: The prince fined thousands for breaking lockdown laws

<p>A Belgian prince who contracted coronavirus after breaking lockdown rules in Spain has been fined 10,400 euros (SG$16,343).</p> <p>Prince Joachim was issued with the penalty after attending a private party in Córdoba with 27 guests on May 26, two days after arriving in the country for an internship. At the time, international arrivals were required to quarantine for 14 days, and gatherings were limited to a maximum of 15 attendees.</p> <p>The day after the event, Joachim began experiencing symptoms of coronavirus, and later tested positive for COVID-19.</p> <p>The 28-year-old prince, nephew of King Philippe and 10th in line to the throne, has since apologised.</p> <p>“I would like to apologize for traveling and not having respected the quarantine measures,” Joachim said in a statement.</p> <p>“I did not intend to offend or disrespect anyone in these very difficult times and deeply regret my actions and accept the consequences.”</p> <p>Joachim has 15 days to pay or <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/prince-joachim-belgium-fined-spain-for-breaking-coronavirus-lockdown-rules-party-in-cordova/">appeal</a> the fine. Other stones from the 621g diamond – found near Pretoria in South Africa in 1905 – were set on other royal jewellery pieces, including the Imperial State Crown and the Sovereign’s Sceptre.</p> <p>The Cullinan V was first owned by the Queen’s grandmother Queen Mary, who wore the brooch as part of the suite of jewelleries made for the Delhi Durbar in 1911.</p> <p>Elizabeth later inherited the piece in 1953 and has since featured it as part of her outfit on many occasions. She was last seen wearing the brooch during the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding at St George’s Chapel in October 2018.</p>

Prince Harry wants to “return” to role after resigning as senior royal

<p>Prince Harry is reportedly interested in returning to a role he had to relinquish after stepping down as a senior member of the British royal family.</p> <p>The Duke of Sussex wanted to return to his role as the Captain General Royal Marines, a former soldier and friend has claimed.</p> <p>“He simply said he misses his role with the Marines and would like one day to return to the appointment,” the unnamed former Invictus Games soldier told <em><a href="https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/prince-harry-misses-role-ceremonial-22128440">The Mirror</a></em>.</p> <p>The conversation took place shortly after lockdown began, the outlet reported.</p> <p>Another military source said Harry’s departure was a “shock” to his colleagues.</p> <p>“Harry was a breath of fresh air, the lads could relate to him and he was a very popular figure who took a keen interest in his job,” the source said.</p> <p>Harry, who took over the ceremonial head role from Prince Philip in December 2017, left the appointment on March 31, his final day as a working member of the royal family.</p> <p>He also lost his positions as Honorary Air Commandant Royal Air Force Honington and Commodore-in-Chief of Small Ships and Diving, while retaining his rank of Major and honorary ranks of Lieutenant Commander and Squadron Leader.</p> <p>The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new roles would be reviewed in 12 months’ time.</p> <p>The Sussexes’ website stated: “During this 12-month period of review, The Duke’s official military appointments will not be used as they are in the gift of the Sovereign. No new appointments will be made to fill these roles before the 12-month review of the new arrangements is completed.”</p> <p>Harry’s military service began in 2005. He attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for training before being commissioned into the Blues and Royals cavalry regiment.</p> <p>He also completed two tours in Afghanistan, for which he was awarded an Operational Service Medal.</p> <p>Harry and Meghan are now residing in California in the US.</p>

Why Prince William warns not to call healthcare workers “heroes”
